Aye, Wind, I ken them weel eneuch, and fine they fa’ and rise,

And fain I’d feel the creepin’ mist on yonder shore that lies,

But tell me, ere ye passed them by What saw ye on the way?

My man, I rocked the rovin’ gulls that sail abune the Tay

Eenerty, feenerty, fickery ,feg.

I saw a man wi a crookity leg,

Irkie, birkie, story, rock,

Airman a wife wi” a raggity frock,

El, del, domin, eg.

She rappt at the door an begnid tae beg

The collie flew oot a gied her a fleg,

He nippet her ankle, an tore her frock,

An, tan, toose, jock,

My man woke up , an threw them oot

Black pudden, white trout.

An that’s the end o my story.
