November has been a very rewarding and exciting time for our Society. The work and services we provide for the community have been recognised and rewarded not only by a generous donation of £300 from the Monifieth Masonic Freemason’ s of Lodge Grange, which was reported in the Courier newspaper,( see previous post) also by the encouraging offer of support by Monifieth High School. We have been invited to deliver a talk and presentation on “The Monifieth House of Memories” to the school and others interested in local heritage.
Once again we opened the doors to provide a meeting place for hospitality for invited guests attending the Christmas Tree lights ‘switch on’. All very much part of our objective of working together with other community groups ‘making Monifieth a desirable place to live’ , while at the same time preserving the Heritage of an Angus Burgh for future generations.
The ‘festive season’ is now here with preparations and plans, which are very time consuming, and I would like to thank you all for the commitment of your time and support given towards the work and objectives of Monifieth Local History Society. It seems that our combined efforts of ‘working together’ has been appreciated by the people locally, nationally and internationally. We will now hopefully move forward with our plans for future improvements. Enjoy the season of “Good will towards All”
